Choir Retreat 2017
“I Will Sing of the Mercies of the Lord” was the theme of the 2017 Fall choir retreat. We used this song as a focus of our Evening Prayer and Morning Prayer. We divided into 3 small groups and were given the task of writing a 4-line song. The product was great! The songs focused around the mission of the choir in the church. All the groups were winners!
We began the task of putting together our Christmas Offering to the St. Clement’s which is “Christmas Around the World”. And in keeping with that our meals represented some of the countries from the program.
We watched a 30-minute video on Choral Techniques on Saturday morning. Tips on breathing and producing vowels were especially helpful.
Last, but by no means least, we began rehearsals on the Christmas program music as well as the music for Fall. As always, our goal is to enhance the worship experience at St. Clement’s.
