About Education for Ministry (EfM)
Calling all those interested in deepening their Christian commitment! Come join us for an incredible study that will open your mind, heart, and spirit to how God works through us and with us in the world! Education for Ministry (EfM) is a unique four-year distance learning certificate program in theological education through Sewanee College. It is based upon small-group study and practice. Since its founding in 1975, this international program has assisted more than 80,000 participants in discovering and nurturing their call to Christian service. EfM helps the faithful encounter the breadth and depth of the Christian tradition and brings it into conversation with personal experiences of the world through study, worship, and theological reflection.
The EfM program is set up so that all share their learning, no matter what year they are studying:
Year One: The Hebrew Bible (Old Testament)
Year Two: New Testament
Year Three: Church History
Year Four: Theology, Ethics, and Interfaith Encounter.
The group welcomes anyone from throughout our Capitol Deanery or even other churches.
If you would like to hear more about it, please feel free to talk with some of the current participants and graduates in our congregation:
