COVID-19 Outreach Donation Challenge!
COVID-19 Outreach Donation Challenge
Help us reach our goal by June 1!
Your Vestry and Fr. Kenn would like to challenge us all to participate in a fundraising challenge to help meet local, national and global needs.
We are proposing that St Clement’s raise $1500.00 for Outreach by June 1. This money may be earmarked for three different programs: The People’s Pantry, HART (which provides meals and shelter to the homeless in our community) and Episcopal Relief and Development COVID-19 Relief. The People’s Pantry and HART are local programs; Episcopal Relief and Development addresses issues throughout the nation and the world.
Why give? To decrease suffering in a world that is experiencing more suffering each day due to COVID-19. To share what we have with those who have less. To increase the health and well-being of all God’s people.
Each week during the fundraiser we will post progress about how much we have raised in the Anchor.
You may contribute by writing a check and mailing it to St. Clement’s writing in the memo line the individual program you want to support (People’s Pantry, HART, ER&D). Or you can DONATE HERE: scroll down using the arrow next to where it says “Fund” Pledge 2020 and those three Programs will pop up so you can specify your donation.
“Each of you must give as you have made up your mind, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.” (2 Corinthians 9:7)
St. Clement’s Church has currently raised $3,295 to help the needy in our community and around the world.
Who Are Those Mask Women?
Did you know that St. Clement’s has a Mask Outreach Ministry? Volunteers include Sharon Burke-Polana, Debbi Honeycutt, Bonnie Ward, and Elsie Webber. These dedicated women have donated their time, talent and treasure to make masks to help others stay safe during the Covid-19 pandemic. Donations for fabric also came from Sacramento Blankets for Kids, and bias tape came from Cordova Baptist Church.
The colorful masks have been delivered back to Sacramento Blankets for Kids for donation to Chowchilla Prison, Twin River School District, the VA Hospitals here and in San Francisco, Sierra Sac Valley Medical Society, Kaiser, Dignity Health and Loaves and Fishes. Additional masks were made for Randy’s Catering Company, which feeds medical workers, and BAART Programs of Sacramento Methadone Clinic .
Eighty-five masks donated to the People’s Pantry were distributed to participants on May 19.
Kudos to these wonderful women who use their sewing machines to tackle this pandemic one mask , and one face of God, at a time!
