Todays sermon is titled “Dinner With Anarcho-Socialist Grunge Hippies” and is by Fr. Kenn Katona+ here at Saint Clement’s Episcopal Church!

That’s the problem… That’s the problem with using fear as a motivator… The number of people in your family circle and community of friends gets smaller, and smaller… and smaller… Fear is not inclusive… Because to put it simply, fear only divides… Fear closes and locks the doors of our houses… Fear keeps us from getting to know our neighbors, or people who may look different than us… Fear is not an attitude that promotes growth of any kind… Fear only shrinks… And fear is what we witness when the people in our gospel lesson ask Jesus to leave… Can you imagine??? They actually ask Jesus to leave… It’s the norm though… We do it all the time… And the really crazy part, is that the people who Jesus spent the most time with, are the people we fear the most… Yes, the same people who Jesus spent the most time with, are the people that the church as a whole often spends the most time trying to avoid…
